God + The Earth?

Well, I'm finally starting this blog after what could be seen as quite a long time. I think the seed was first planted in my head about a year and a half ago while I was edging lawns part-time for my neighbor who runs a landscaping service back home. The environment (world around us) has kind of always been a part-time interest of mine and its something I'd like to start sharing with everyone. I think now, more than ever, is a good time to start thinking about how we can all do our part instead of just sitting back and pretending it's not our problem. I remember even back in elementary school we used to have Earth Day celebrations. There would be an entire school day dedicated to learning about nature, petting reptiles, and planting the annual tree out back. I guess back then, though, it wasn't as much of a national/global crisis as it is today. So, I hope you'll join me in taking advantage of the recent hype and all the opportunities available to start taking care of the gorgeous planet we've been given. I hope to start blogging about my efforts and maybe they will give you ideas or inspiration for your own.

And if this is all just a global warming hoax, I plan to figure that out, too.

And then of course there's the Creator. Sometimes I still find myself in a flux about who he even is, if he even exists, and what in the world we're doing here. So another purpose for this blog is to explore those questions in depth. I plan on finding out who he is (if he is) and what he wants with me and this planet. And I feel like if he is there, he wants us to be good stewards of his creation, which brings this blog back around full circle.

And so I hope this blog is enjoyable for everyone to read, that we can all find some things out, and pull this whole story of God, his creation, and his people together under one big green umbrella.
